Who We Are
Our Story
SHE – Satrang Handicraft Enterprise is the flagship social enterprise of Pahel Pakistan – An Initiative for Inclusive Human Development, established to empower women home-based workers through sustainable livelihoods while preserving and celebrating the rich cultural heritage of Sindh, Pakistan.
SHE is a premium ethical lifestyle and handicraft brand that brings together the artistry of rural women with contemporary design. Our collections reflect a unique fusion of Sindhi traditions and modern aesthetics, transforming centuries-old craftsmanship into elegant fashion accessories, home décor, textiles, gift items, and eco-friendly lifestyle products for today’s conscious consumers.
Every product is handcrafted by skilled women artisans organized into cooperative groups and producer networks across rural communities. From intricate embroidery, appliqué, patchwork, crochet, weaving, basketry, and traditional textile arts to innovative products made from natural fibres, each creation embodies heritage, creativity, quality, and social impact.
Committed to sustainability, SHE promotes a circular economy by developing environmentally responsible, zero-waste products using locally available natural resources and agricultural by-products. Through value-chain development, date palm leaves, fibres, and banana plant residues are transformed into beautifully handcrafted baskets, home décor, storage solutions, fashion accessories, and contemporary lifestyle products.
By combining indigenous knowledge with innovative design, SHE demonstrates how traditional craftsmanship can contribute to climate resilience, environmental sustainability, and green entrepreneurship.
More than a handicraft brand, SHE is a platform where culture inspires innovation, women become entrepreneurs, and every handcrafted piece creates lasting social, economic, and environmental impact.
Our Roots
Pahel Pakistan – An Initiative for Inclusive Human Development is an independent, non-profit organization established in 2009 and registered under the Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860.
With its head office in Sukkur, Pahel Pakistan works across Sindh, Southern Punjab, and Balochistan to promote inclusive development, human rights, women’s economic empowerment, quality education, climate resilience, sustainable livelihoods, humanitarian response, and social inclusion.
Recognizing the untapped economic potential of women home-based workers, Pahel Pakistan established SHE – Satrang Handicraft Enterprise as a social enterprise to connect traditional artisans with sustainable market opportunities while preserving Pakistan’s living cultural heritage.
Through partnerships with government institutions, development agencies, financial institutions, technical training providers, and private-sector actors, SHE strengthens every stage of the artisan value chain—from skills development and product innovation to entrepreneurship, digital literacy, branding, quality assurance, market access, and business incubation.
Today, SHE works with thousands of women artisans organized into cooperative groups across rural communities, enabling them to transform traditional skills into sustainable enterprises.
The initiative supports artisans in producing high-quality handcrafted products that meet national and international market standards while promoting fair income, dignified employment, financial inclusion, and long-term economic resilience.
By integrating cultural preservation, women’s entrepreneurship, climate-smart production, and ethical trade, SHE is creating a new generation of artisan-led enterprises where traditional craftsmanship evolves into sustainable businesses capable of competing in global markets without compromising authenticity or cultural identity.
Every SHE product represents more than exceptional craftsmanship—it represents a woman’s journey toward economic independence, the preservation of Sindh’s artistic traditions, the responsible use of natural resources, and a future where heritage, innovation, and sustainability flourish together.
